Music

I share here just some of the music that touches me the most deeply.

The Work That Reconnects has an amazing website curated by Gretchen Sleicher, called Songs for the Great Turning. My favourite is this one: One Heart Beating.

Keep Her Safe from the album: Already Free
by Lydia Violet
Text heard at the beginning of the song, read by Joanna Macy:
She who reconciles the ill-matched threads of her life and weaves them, gratefully, into a single cloth is she who drives the loudmouths from the hall and clears it for a different celebration where the one guest is ... you.

We Shall Be Known from the album: Prayers for Freedom
by Ma Muse
Lyrics:
We Shall Be Known
We shall be known by the company we keep
by the ones who circle round to tend these fires.
We shall be known by the ones who sow and reap
the seeds of change alive from deep within the earth.
It is time now.
It is time now that we thrive.
It is time we lead ourselves into the well.
It is time now, and what a time to be alive.
In this Great Turning we shall learn to lead in love.
In this Great Turning we shall learn to lead in love.

Water Song In these times when we begin to appreciate the danger that the Earth's waters are in and the scarcity we may all be faced with, I particularly appreciate this video sent by a friend from north western Spain. Laura J. offers deep ecology retreats in Spanish. The words of this song are easy to learn and we are encouraged to sing it in blessing for the water.

Vuelo con el Viento And here is my favourite song in honour of the wind!
