OT story from work today, July 16 (this story proves that feminism is anything but dead and that I will believe that feminism is dead when I see it):
Yesterday I had a day off from work. Today I learned that yesterday one of the female employees had flushed a rag down the toilet in the employee women’s restroom which is on the second floor. This caused a sewage leak which poured onto the first floor. Obviously the employee (we only know that a woman did it; we don’t know which one) was pissed off with our employer, because how does someone unintentionally flush a rag down the toilet? Also, why would anyone who loves his or her job intentionally flush a rag down the toilet?
I will only reveal where I work if this happens for a second time because I am going to assume the worst and that someone from my employer also reads but does not also comment on The Spearhead. I promise to let you know if this happens again as soon as it happens.
None of the female employees, apparently not even the woman who discovered the problem and who had to plunge the toilet wanted to know which female employee had done this. The employer has not bothered to try to figure out which female employee did this, despite the fact that yesterday was also a day where Murphy’s law was reportedly on steroids.
If a male employee had flushed a rag down the toilet in the men’s employee restroom, I bet that every single male employee at work at that time would have to stop what he was doing, however inconvenient it would be to the customers at the store (okay, I will say that it is a store), and be interrogated to see which male employee had intentionally fucked up the sewage system. The employer would be hell-bent on a day where everything is going wrong to find out who the culprit was because it would be traced to the employee men’s restroom.
