I’ll give an example of being socially unintelligent because I’ve experienced it a lot with someone I’ve been around. Take a group hanging out, and group conversation. Conversation is often fluid and jumps around, and I think being socially intelligent means being able to go with the flow, and even more so move the river in a different direction in a way that feels fluid and natural. In contrast, this guy tends to go backwards in the conversation because his logical brain has been abstractly contemplating some response. It may be an intelligent response, but it is not socially intelligent because it no longer fits the context of the conversation. The group has gone from A to B to C to D, but this guy wants to go back and talk about B when it doesn’t fit to go from D to B.
