Somebody Else’s Man

The OP believes that “the average emotionally healthy woman does not want to have sex with more than 1 man at a time…” She implies later in the comment section that any woman who disagrees with her has “low physical self-esteem.” She has a right to believe anything she wants to and conduct herself anyway she pleases regarding her own sexuality. But just because that is what feels right for her does not mean that anyone who conducts themselves differently is not emotionally healthy.

I’m a single woman and there have been several times I’ve slept with two different guys in the same night. There have even been times I’ve slept with three different guys in two days. I have absolutely no problem with that, not because I have low self-esteem, but because I enjoy sex. Period. In fact, I would suggest the theory that the people who are not emotionally healthy are the people, usually women, who feel compelled to deny themselves that which feels completely natural because of what they were taught in church or at home. However, unlike the OP, I admit that my opinion is just an opinion and do not try to cloak it as biological fact. And while it may be true from a Darwinian standpoint that women are, on average, wired to view monogamy differently from men, we do have brains and the ability to choose and decide for ourselves.

I think these debates are a bit pointless because everyone is going to hang onto what works for them. You aren’t going to be able to use logic and a history lesson to tell someone that watching balloons pop isn’t a turn on. I just wish people wouldn’t blame society for suppressing their natural instincts. People seem to do whatever the heck they want anyway but perhaps it’s more exciting to feel like some sort of rebel in the process and will wave that banner for all to see.
