I look at it as similar to sexual positions. Assuming PIV sex, there are many different positions. Nothing wrong with any of them, just some people are more comfortable for different reasons with some of them, others not. This is the part of a relationship that is give and take, the part that requires maturity, prayerfulness, thoughtfulness, kindness and putting your partners needs/desires in front of your own. Meaning that when handled appropriately, sometimes “no” is appropriate and sometimes leaving your comfort zone is appropriate. And that can apply to either partner in this doctor’s scenario. Men need to understand a woman’s perspective and women need to understand a man’s perspective. The give and take happens in each unique relationship and ultimately each couple finds where they are comfortable in this situation.

God’s honest truth: men know women are uncomfortable with the whole gyno office visit. we get it. we are glad that we don’t have to go thru. i would not. i am not gloating, just stating fact. i felt a lil awkward with a woman doc seeing my without clothes. it was more of an “aaaugh! i’m exposed and embarrassed!” than a “she is taking advantage of me!”

to flip the coin, “a man is more than just a pen1s”.

while i could make a good solid argument biblically about another man seeing my wife naked – hey that is SIN! i can also say Jesus looks beyond the situation into the hearts of the doc and the patient – to paraphrase Freud, sometimes a gyno exam is just a gyno exam.

my wife’s doc always has a female nurse present in the room as a witness that nothing funny is going on. from a lawsuit persepctive he is one smart doc. while i trust my wife’s judgement, i also trust her doc knowing that.
