Description : A cultural talking point.” - The Financial Times

Womanhood: The Bare Reality was the subject of a documentary for Channel 4 in February 2019, and received three five star reviews in The Guardian, The Telegraph and The Independent.

100 Vaginas followed me photographing and interviewing 18 women (of the total 100 in my project) about how their vulvas and vaginas have shaped their lives. Their stories are intimate, shocking, moving, powerful and funny. On one level the film and the project Womanhood are about sharing the visual range of normal, which is all too needed today. But on another level, the photographs are visual signposts through the politics of power, shame, identity, sexuality and inequality that inform our sexed experience of the world as women. I always say that it’s not radical that women have vulvas and vaginas - what is radical is women sharing images of their bodies and describing experiences on their own terms.

100 Vaginas has now been shown in the UK, Australia, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands and Luxembourg.
